Llanelli head to Llandovery’s Church Bank on Saturday on the hunt for the first win of the Indigo Group Premiership Cup season.
With defeats to Aberavon and Bridgend in the opening two rounds, Llanelli will be keen to mark their first victory this weekend in their first West Wales derby of the season.
Llandovery on the other hand have enjoyed a winning start to their campaign, notching up solid victories over Swansea and Carmarthen Quins.
Paul Fisher’s side narrowly lost to Bridgend at Parc y Scarlets last weekend, missing out on a victory after a frantic final few minutes.
Speaking on his side’s team selection Fisher said: “There were parts of last weekend’s performance that we were really pleased with, we saw improvement in certain areas from the game against Aberavon the week before.
“We were disappointed with the result but essentially our ill-discipline and missed opportunities allowed Bridgend back in to the game.”
He went on to say; “Llandovery are good team that have been together for a long time. We know it’s going to be a difficult challenge. We’ve asked the boys this week to take ownership around discipline and we’ve prepared for the potential bad weather conditions.
“We’ve put a game-plan in place that we feel will challenge them on their own patch.”
