Llanelli start New Year with televised clash against Steelmen

Llanelli host Ebbw Vale in front of the S4C cameras on Thursday night (7.30) aiming to start their New Year with a bang.

Following the disappointment of the Boxing Day derby defeat to Swansea, head coach Phil John has reshuffled his side for the Parc y Scarlets clash with the fourth-placed Steelmen.

Most of the changes come behind the scrum.

The fit-again Harri Williams partners fellow Scarlets Academy player Tal Rees at half-back with Josh Phillips (pictured) switching to full-back. Iestyn Gwilliam returns to take his place on the wing, while Eddie James moves back into midfield alongside Jack Price.

Up front, Luca Giannini and Nathan Hart come into the back row, while Elis Rees-Lewis is named at lock alongside Chris Long. Iwan Shenton again skippers the side.

If you can’t make the match at Parc y Scarlets, S4C will be streaming the game live on Clic and its Facebook channel.
