Merthyr RFC, the current Principality Premiership champions are the next opponents for Llanelli. Due to the Scarlets Treviso game taking place on Saturday, we’ve had to move the game to Sunday. The game at the “Parc” will kick off at the usual time of 2.30pm.
There’s been some recent press stories around our poor start to the season, yes we’ve had some team issues around injuries and also the regional development fixtures have also had an impact on the team selection. Having said that, our aim is the continued development of young players from across the region for the long term benefit of the game in Wales. That’s something we’re very proud of and have been very successful at! The current squad and the boys we’re bringing in as cover are working hard in training preparing for the challenges that lie ahead including this game on Sunday.
Of course Merthyr arrive as champions and will bring down a very strong side who will want to continue their winning start to the season have already secured wins over Cardiff & Bedwas.
So, we would ask for your continued support throughout this extremely challenging period and for the rest of this vital Premiership season.
Look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
