Salary: Per training sessions and games or monthly retainer

Contract type: Part-time (minimum two training sessions and one game per week)

Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen at Llanelli RFC to join our first team and medical set-up

 

KEY QUALITIES

Essential

  • BSc Physiotherapy
  • WRU/RFU pitchside trauma course
  • Relevant experience within rugby
  • Member of CSP/HCPC
  • An understanding of the demands and needs required of elite environment
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques related to recent advances in musculoskeletal medicine in the sporting environment
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, fair play and all national anti-doping policies enforced by national governing bodies and international federations

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within rugby — ideally three years
  • Previous experience of lone working
  • Proficient in the use of google and Gmail

 

Key responsibilities

  • Attend training and games for Llanelli RFC 1st XV, minimum two trainings and a game per week
  • Adhere to training schedule
  • Be punctual and available for sessions
  • Provide coaches with weekly updates on player availability and injuries
  • Attend home games and travel with the team to away games, providing them with taping and pre-game treatment requirements
  • Close communication with sports medicine team and coaches on injured players
  • Build and maintain effective treatment and rehabilitation with timescales of RTP/RTS
  • Manage the medical budget and minimum standards criteria as stipulated by the WRU
  • Additional responsibilities to those listed above may be required as directed by sports medicine or coaching team
