Late try seals win

Llanelli 23-18 Bridgend Ravens
LLANELLI ended a run of three straight defeats in Principality Premiership West while also avenging their defeat by Bridgend earlier in the season.
No.8 Nathan Hart’s touchdown two minutes from time at Parc y Scarlets followed earlier tries from right wing Ryan Davies and hooker Craig Thomas for the Sospans.
Bridgend had the better of the early exchanges and were rewarded with the opening try in the eighth minute through tighthead Garyn Daniel, although the resultant conversion attempt was wide from fly-half Cai Evans.
It was all Llanelli after that for the remainder of the first half.
Evans’ opposite number Lewis Williams booted a penalty to get Llanelli on the scoreboard after 20 minutes, while they took the lead in the 31st minute after a move that started with a charge-down from lock Chris Long with the ball eventually finding its way out to Davies who touched down.
Williams took care of the extras for the hosts, who took a 10-8 lead into the break after Evans booted a penalty for the Ravens.
Llanelli extended their lead on 51 minutes thanks to Thomas’ try after more strong forward play, although this time it was unconverted.
Williams’ second penalty on 68 minutes stretched Llanelli’s lead to 18-8 before replacement Ryan Evans booted Bridgend back to within seven points with nine minutes to play.
They were level on 73 minutes with a try from replacement Joseph Gatt following a charge-down from centre Nathan Edwards, which was converted.
But Llanelli would not be denied and snatched victory thanks to a late try from Hart.
