On a cold afternoon at the Talbot Athletic ground both teams tried their best to entertain the crowd with at times a lot of running rugby but both sides were guilty of making too many errors. Having said that, 10 tries, 8 conversions & No penalties!!
Llanelli led at the half having secured a 19 - 12 lead courtesy of tries from scrum half Gareth George , Ben Leung and Kieran Griffiths with Jake Newman slotting two conversions. The Wizards scored a couple of tries, wing three quarter Ben John and hooker Luke Davies, outside half James Garland kicking one conversion.
The second half belonged to the home side who secured their bonus point win with a strong performance from their pack punishing the visitors when in the red zone scoring two tries from rolling mauls. Aberavon try scorers were Ben Jones, Luke Davies and James Garland, whilst Llanelli secured their losing bonus point with a try from Richard Bassett. Llanelli would have secured another losing bonus point but for an 83 minute score from Wizards scrum half Jacob Flynn. Garland added a further four conversions to complete the scoring.
