Llanelli slipped to a disappointing defeat at home to Neath in their Principality Premiership Tier Two match on Thursday night.
The visitors took the lead in the 10th minute when right wing Aaron Grabham chased down his own kick to score an unconverted try, although Llanelli hit back to go 7-5 in front on 14 minutes through flanker Trystan Lloyd's try, converted by fly-half Billy McBryde.
Scorer then turned provider on 22 minutes as Grabham offloaded to left wing Alec Jenkins to put Neath back in front, with the try again going unconverted.
McBryde’s penalty on 31 minutes levelled it up at 10-10 but full-back Ed Howley’s kick three minutes later ensured the visitors would take a 13-10 lead into half time.
Howley scored a third Neath try eight minutes after the re-start and converted himself, although full-back Dion Jones scored a second Llanelli try on 54 minutes to pull them back to within five points.
However skipper Jordan Collier secured Neath a bonus-point with a fourth try on 72 minutes, converted by replacement Dan Guarneri.
Guarneri booted a penalty before Howley scored his second and Neath’s fifth try, converted by Guarneri as Llanelli finished the game with 13 men after Trystan Lloyd and replacement front-rower Rhys Thomas were both yellow carded.
