Match Report

Bonus Win

Llanelli fought off the late challenge from Swansea for a bonus point home win in the Fosters Challenge Cup. In wet conditions both sides served up a really entertaining derby match well refereed by young Ben Breakspear.

Swansea's out-half Rory Garett opened the scoring for the visitors with two well taken penalties.

For Llanelli, debut winger Matthew Brewer and full back Kalum Evans combined well resulting in an excellent  corner try for Brewer.

On 26 minutes 'livewire' flanker Nathan Hart cut a beautiful angle to score near the posts with young maestro out-half Ioan Hughes converting both tries.

'Harto' again touched just before half time to give Llanelli a 19-6 lead.

The second period  saw Llanelli start sprightly with another good try from Matthew Brewer but it was the 'Jacks' who finished stronger which earned them a converted penalty try.

This  Challenge Cup result will have no bearing when Llanelli travel to St Helens to play Swansea on Boxing Day (Monday 26th Dec 2.30pm) in the Principality Premiership. Jacks v Turks great rivals on the field, great friends off !
