AN ill-disciplined second-half display saw Llanelli fall to their second Principality Premiership defeat of the season at Bridge Field.
After leading 12-8 at half-time, the visitors consistently fell foul of the whistle of referee Jonathan Mason and conceded two yellow cards and a penalty try in the final ten minutes.
Bedwas will feel the margin of victory could have been far greater considering fly-half Richard Powell endured a miserable day with the boot, in contrast to opposite number Josh Lewis who landed all five of his kicks.
And Llanelli head of rugby Anthony Buchanan will know his side have plenty to work on ahead of their British & Irish Cup clash with Connacht next weekend.
It was the boot of Lewis that ensured the visitors went in at the interval in the ascendancy.
A strong Llanelli scrum gave the fly-half the chance open the scoring after three minutes, before Bedwas responded superbly with young Dragons centre Matthew Pewtner finishing off an excellent attack.
With the wind at their backs Llanelli enjoyed plenty of possession, with scrum-half Jak Evans a lively operator, but errors halted a number of promising attacks.
Instead, the visitors had to rely on three more Lewis penalties – one a monstrous strike from inside his own half – to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Powell reduced the deficit to four points with the last kick of the half, then edged his side closer with a second success three minutes after the restart.
Lewis landed his fifth penalty soon after, but it was Bedwas who finished the game far stronger.
After a couple of penalty misses, Powell opted to go for touch instead of the posts and the pendulum swung heavily in favour of the home side.
Bedwas had a try ruled out by the TMO after a powerful driving line-out, but from the ensuing scrums, Llanelli's replacement flanker Owain Morgan and centre Jonny Lewis were yellow carded in quick succession and the inevitable penalty try followed.
With nine minutes remaining the odds were stacked against the 13 men of Llanelli and it was Powell who finally got his radar working to seal the home victory with a penalty three minutes from time.
