Llanelli took the five Pricipality Premiership points at the Arms Park with a much improved performance. Gareth Davies opened the scoring with a snap drop goal for Cardiff after a couple of minutes. Llanelli were looking threatening every time they kept the ball in hand and scored three good tries from Justin James (6),Steffan Hughes (12) and Kristian Phillips (25) with Owen Williams converting two. Llanelli were looking to run in the fourth but a turnover by Cardiff resulted in a long distance try for Shaun Powell which was converted by Gareth Davies. Owen Williams brought the half to close with a fine penalty to extend their lead to 22-10.
The last 10 minutes of the half and the start of the second Llanelli were far too guilty of moving away from their game plan and when Cardiff flyer Dan Fish ran in another long distance try converted by Gareth Davies, it was game on.
But three penalties from Owen Williams (46,62,67) steadied the ship until the end of the match when replacement Kyle Evans finished off a great break from Chris Keenan to score the bonus point try which Owen converted
