2011/2012 SWALEC Cup
Bonymaen 26 v 35 Llanelli
28 January 2012 - Parc Mawr, Bonymaen

Match Report

Llanelli through to next round

Llanelli switched their home draw to Parc Mawr Bonymaen who provided excellent opposition and fine hospitality.

When Llanelli's full back Jordan Williams had scored a penalty, try and conversion within 14 minutes it looked as if the floodgates might open. However Bonymaen, superbly led by open side flanker Clancy were not going to roll over as they tore into the 14 times winners in defence and attack. Pacy wingers  Rob Jones and Nathan Brookes touched down with Richard Cunniffe converting one. Greg George got Llanelli's other try which Jordan converted before adding a penalty for a 20-12 half time lead.

Both sides were trying to spread the ball wide but Llanelli's usual fluency seemed to be breaking down in midfield but nevertheless wings Ryan Bayliss and Bowdy Davies both touched down with Jordan converting one. Bonymaen's flying machine Nathan Brookes scored a couple of gems for the homesters to complete an outstanding hat rick of tries. Paul Warlow converted to bring the score to 32 -26.  Then Diggy Bird finished the game with a penalty in this hard fought SWALEC Cup tie
