2011/2012 Principality Premiership
Tonmawr 22 v 40 Llanelli
08 October 2011 - Whitworth Ground, Tonmawr

Match Report

Late surge @ Tonmawr

The last 20 minute performance spearheaded by the Llanelli bench secured the valuable bonus point win at the Whitwoth Ground against bottom of the Principality Premiership, Tonmawr.

Debutant outside half Johnny Davies kept the score board ticking over with 4 well struck penalties, plus converting a try from promising young prop Rhys Thomas.

For Tonmawr Leon Gallagher scored a well taken try after a fine Steve Winn break which was converted by evergreen Luke Richards who went on to convert another 5 penalties to add to his mammoth League points total.

With the scores locked on 19 all after 60 minutes the introduction of forward replacements the Hopkins brothers, Kirby Myhill, Daniel Thomas and Duane Eager had the desired impact with three late tries from Aled Hopkins 2 and Duane Eager which were all converted by full back Dale Ford.

Another five Principality Premiership points in the bag but the Llanelli coaching staff will recognise that another similar performance at the Gnoll next Saturday will end far less fruitful.
