In artic weather at Pandy Park, Cross Keys taught Llanelli a lesson in how to adapt to the conditions. Plenty of kicking,close quarter gainl-ine rugby and efficient ball control was the order of the day.
Tom Lampard opened the scoring after 12 minutes with Dai Langdon converting with a good conversion and 3 minutes later Steve Shingler also done remarkably well when he kicked a good penalty.
Llanelli were then awarded a penalty try after an excellent passage of play which was illegally stopped by Nathan Trowbridge who was duly yellow carded, Shingler converting.
Then Keys skipper Rob Nash came to the fore with a hat-rick of tries (one converted by Langdon) 10 minutes either side of half-time to finish the visittors hopes of any Premiership points.
For Llanelli 6'6" Nathan White was in the thick of the action all night while both scrum halves Justin James and James Leadbeater were showing good skills in the appalling conditions.
James Leadbeater rounded off a good night for himself and his team when he found another gap close to the breakdown to score the last points of the night on 52minutes. The remainder of the match finished a scoreless mud wrestle, with Keys deserving their points on the night, avenging their 47 point defeat at Parc Y Scarlets in the opening match of the season.
