Llanelli Pipped at Home

For the second week Llanelli squandered a commanding lead. An excellent individual try from man of the match Ben Morgan and one conversion and four penalties from Luke Richards gave Llanelli their well earned 19 points lead, while outplayed Neath scored with their only real threat from centre Steve Thomas.

Llanelli scored within a couple of minutes of the restart of the second half through Nic Reynolds converted by Richards to extend the lead to 26-5. Neath's McCarthy then kicked a couple of penalties and on 50 minutes Neath brought on three replacements which had great effect. That coupled with the sin binning of Adam Powell saw Neath capitalise with tries from Euros Evans and Gareth Gravell with Mc Carthy converting one. Neath then scored from wing Kevin James after Llanelli had knocked on from a rebound off the post.

Llanelli then had a couple of chances in injury time to win the match,but Luke Richards and Dale Ford failed to find the target, Dale unluckily hitting the post with a superb 50 metre effort.
