As predicted there were 'points galore', 64 points in all, equally shared. In fact Llanelli scored all theirs in the first period, scoring four tries from Scott Williams,Craig Hawkins, Ben Morgan and Gareth Davies with Dan Newton kicking three conversions and two penalties. Aberavon picked up two yellow cards and added a solitary penalty by Matthew Jarvis.
Llanelli needed to keep ball and discipline in the second period and all 5 premiership points were theirs. Unfortunately neither materialised as Aberavon to their credit took full advantage of the glut of possession and indiscipline culminating in two yellow cards by Ian Jones and Tavis Knoyle.
Two tries from Paul Bamsey,Justin Tipuric and Chris Davies with Jarvis converting one and replacement Jamie Murphy kicking 2 conversions and an 86th minute penalty to draw the match.
On the positive side Morgan Stoddart got through his 20 minute stint unscathed and the team picked up another 3 valuable league points. Neath are next up at Parc y Scarlets and Llanelli know that it will take an 80 minute performance to win that game!
