In the end Cardiff ran out easy winners but the scoreline doesn't do justice to the hard work and effort put in by the visitors to the Arms Park. Cardiff hit a purple patch late on in the game which resulted in three converted tries and almost secured the league title in the process. Llanelli has weathered the storm and were very much still in the game at 15 - 9 with a little over ten minutes remaining. Indeed had they scored from a couple of opportunities late on in the second half, who knows what might have happened. But in the end the home side gained some revenge from their two defeats at the hands of Llanelli earlier in the season. Scorers for Llanelli were Full Back Dan Newton with one penalty, and outside half Ceiron Thomas who slotted over two goals. Cardiff ran in five tries, Craig Morgan, Damien Welch, Rhys Shellard, Gareth Chapman and lastly replacement Richard Jones. Outside half Gareth Davies kicked four conversions and a penalty goal to complete the scoring.
