10 April 2009 - St Helen's, Swansea

Match Report

Swansea 31 :: Llanelli 23

It certainly didn't turn out to be a "good friday" after all, going down at St Helens in a typical local derby encounter. The turning point in the game was undoubtably the interception try mid way through the second half which saw the home side two scores clear at 28 - 16. Swansea scored three tries - all from the wing Leigh Bevan [2] and that interception try by Nicky Thomas. J Dixon slotted two conversions and four penalties for the All Whites. Llanelli scored two tries, one from Mathew Brayley, the other coming late on by flanker Simon Peters and with Luke Richards [ 3pens & 1 conv ] and Rhys Priestland with the final conversion it completed a disappointing result.
