Match Report

Glamorgan Wanderers 14 :: Llanelli 20

After last week’s disappointing result, Llanelli got back to winning ways with a very good away win last night.

After stemming the early onslaught, in which the home side managed to cross for just the one score, a try by prop Nathan Trevett converted by Scott Sneddon, Llanelli made the pressure count with five well taken penalty goals by Dan Newton and a try by Wing Matthew Jacobs. Some fine tactical kicking by Rhys Priestland, particularly early on the second half kept the home side at bay. It wasn’t until the final minutes that the Wanderers got their second try, this time by No8 Michael Grimes, again converted by Sneddon that set up a tense finale. Llanelli’s defence held strong and will go into next week’s SWALEC Cup Qtr final against the same opposition with great hopes of progressing further.
