Big Regional Cup Tie next

After a few weeks off for B&I cup action, Llanelli are back in cup action this weekend. We are hosted by our fellow regionalists Llandovery RFC at Church Bank in the 2nd round of the National Cup competition. The game kicks off at 2.30pm and I'm sure we should be in for a cracking cup tie.

Llanelli secured their spot in the 2nd round with a very good all round performance against Cardiff Met but will come up against one of the form sides in the Premiership who will no doubt ask serious questions of the Llanelli defensive qualities. Having said that, we all know that if they put their 'A' game together the town semi's can be a challenge for anyone. I'm sure match preparations this week will be full on knowing that if they are to turn the hosts over on their patch, discipline and mistakes must be top drawer.

As I've said, our opponents are in fine form. They've won six of their last seven matches and are really playing some very good all round rugby right now. A couple of weeks ago they comfortably turned over Aberavon in the 1st round of the second half of the Premiership and if you add in the fact that they've beaten us twice this season. They will undoubtedly come into this game as big favourites but this is a one off Cup game and form can easily be overturned.

lets hope for a really exciting cup clash between two sides who will surely entertain both home and visiting supporters. Look forward to seeing you all at Church Bank on Saturday afternoon.
