Match Preview

Principality Premiership Action at Parc Y Scarlets

Its Parc-y-Scarlets this Saturday, as we host Aberavon RFC in our next Principality Premiership West Group fixture. As always a warm welcome awaits one and all and I'm sure we will once again be in for some cracking action.

The boys had a super win at the Gnoll last Saturday scoring some really good tries to boot. The win was really needed and it would have given all the squad a big lift going into the game against the Wizards.

Our opponents are a fine side. Yes, they may have lost a couple of games so far but it will take a really good performance by any side to get the better of them. Last season they narrowly missed out on taking the Principality Premiership title going down to Merthyr in the Grand-final. It wouldn't be at all surprising that their main goal would be to go one better this year and lift the trophy come next May. Last week they got the better of West Group leaders Llandovery in a very keenly contested encounter at the Talbot Athletic ground winning 20-19. They will come to the 'Parc' on Saturday looking to both build on that result and maintain they're recent run of form against us. Of course, our Gnoll result may have raised a few eyebrows in the Aberavon camp!
So, another big challenge for our young side but one I'm sure they're all relishing.

Finally, can I on behalf of everyone at Llanelli RFC wish Aberavon Assistant Coach Lyndon Lewis a speedy recovery from his heart surgery.

Look forward to seeing you all at the 'Parc' on Saturday.
