After a couple of weeks off, we are back in Tier Two Principality Premiership action this weekend. On Saturday we have an early kick off at the Arms Park where we take on Cardiff RFC. The game is scheduled to kick off at 12 noon which then allows all home and travelling supporters to catch the best of the action on Six Nations finale day.
No need to beat about the bush, we've all been very disappointed in our results so far in the Tier two competition. I'm sure all the squad will be working hard this week to try and get the show on the road so to speak by securing their first win and then follow it up with a couple of home wins to end the season on a bit of a high. In Aberavon a couple of weeks ago the boys worked hard but in many ways, it was 'deja vu' created good opportunities but chances not taken - if we are to win at the Arms Park the team will need to make the most of the opportunities that will undoubtedly come their way. And stating the obvious, defensively improve. We know the talent is there, so com'on boys let's go out there and get it done!
Like ourselves, Cardiff RFC are going through a rough patch and are also looking for their first win in Tier two. They got turned over at Rodney Parade a few weeks ago in a very closely contested game and will take some positives out of that performance. Looking at their up and coming fixtures, the Llanelli game is their last at home this season - amazing isn't it! so I'm sure all the coaches and players will want to go out with a win in front of own supporters.
We tend to have very entertaining, high scoring games with Cardiff and let's hope we get the same again on Saturday. I'm sure we'd all settle for a five to four try game as long as we come out on top!
Everyone would like to wish centre Jonny Lewis a full and speedy recovery following a nasty leg injury he sustained while playing for Waunarlwydd last Saturday.
Hope you see you in the Arms Park for the early kick off.
