2016/2017 Fosters Challenge Cup
Llanelli 24 v 13 Swansea
07 December 2016 - Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli

Match Preview

Mid week Fosters Challenge Cup

We take a break from Premiership action for a few weeks now. Our next couple of fixtures will be in the Fosters Premier Challenge cup competition with the first coming this Wednesday evening against Swansea. So a warm welcome to one and all, let's hope the weather is kind and it remains dry.
Please note that the game will be played on the training field and not at Parc-y-Scarlets. Entry prices will be £3 for adults, £2 for over 60's and kids under 16 will be allowed in free of charge. Entry will include a mini match programme, and tickets will be on sale at the entry to the training field rather than at the stadium. The Heart & Soul bar will be open pre-post match for refreshments and a mobile unit will also be available near the entry to the training field also serving refreshments.
The boys have yet to register a win in this competition and after the disappointing performance against Cardiff last Saturday whatever side takes the field will I've no doubt be doing their utmost to get a "W" over our group opponents. As I've said previously, this competition provides a great opportunity for the coaching staff to blood new up and coming talent from across the area and we all look forward to seeing what they can do come Wednesday evening.
Our opponents Swansea are after a couple of seasons in the Championship back where they belong in the Premiership. Whilst they're finding life tuf in the league at the moment, like ourselves they have a young squad who will no doubt learn from this seasons encounters. Again, like ourselves they're likely to give a run out to some young talent from in and around the Swansea area. They too are looking for their first win in this competition so let's hope we get to see a really good cup game.
See you Wednesday evening
