Match Preview

Newport at Parc Y Scarlets this Sunday

We are once again at home this weekend in the Principality Premiership. This time we entertain Newport RFC and as always we extend a warm welcome to our visitors. As the Scarlets are playing the previous day, this game will now be played at the 'Parc' on Sunday with a scheduled kick off time of 2.30pm. Looking at the weather forecast for the weekend it looks like we're in for a fine afternoon so there should be no excuse to witness another exciting Premiership clash.
Both our home fixtures to date have been very competitive and have gone down to the wire and if that's to be the case again this week, then let's hope we can reverse our recent results and claim the much need 'W'.
Newport have had a tough start to their league campaign, narrowly going down at Cardiff and again two weeks ago at Rodney Parade against Bewdas. Then, last week they travelled to Eugene Cross Park to take on Ebbw Vale and in many ways like our game against Ponty, the result was in the balance going into the final minutes. The home side came out on top, but it demonstrated that Newport have the skill, power and ability to compete with the best in the league. They will want to get their season underway by turning us over big time!
Our recent encounters with Newport have been high scoring affairs with plenty of tries being run in. If we are to secure the points on offer on Sunday then our defence will need to be spot on: that being the case, we have the ability to get back to winning ways.
So, why not come along to catch some semi pro action at Parc-y-Scarlets for what should be another fascinating encounter.
As always we thank you for your continued support.
