2016/2017 Principality Premiership
Bedwas 36 v 22 Llanelli
31 December 2016 - Bridge Field, Bedwas

Match Preview

Bedwas Away this saturday

We're once again in Principality Premiership action this week. Next up we take on Bedwas RFC at the Bridge field Bedwas this coming New Year's Eve with a kick off time of 1.30pm. The early kick off provides sufficient time for our travelling supporters to catch all the action and then travel back home to enjoy the new year festivities. I'm sure our hosts will provide the usual warm welcome to everyone both on and off the field.
It was great to see Adam run out at St Helens on Boxing Day to make his 300th appearance for the club and of course we got the result we were looking for. Yes, it was good to see the boys turn over the All Whites but if we are to continue our recent winning form a big improvement will be required if we are to turn over our hosts. In recent seasons we have played really well at the Bridge field and I'm sure the squad will be looking for more of the same this time round.
Bedwas are having a really good season and lie fifth in the table with just the two games left before the league split. They earned their top eight spot with a hard fought victory over the current league champions Ebbw Vale in the televised game on Boxing Day. The fact that their top eight spot is assured will make no difference - they will want to build momentum going into the second half of the season so will be going all out to secure another 'W' in front of their home fans.
Recent fixtures between these two sides have been high scoring affairs with plenty of tries being scored. Let's hope this fixture comes up trumps once again and provides all the spectators with some thrilling end of year Premiership action.
Once again many thanks for your support throughout 2016 and on behalf of everyone at Llanelli RFC wish you all a very happy new year.
