Newport 20 v 48 Llanelli
23 April 2016 - Rodney Parade, Newport

Match Preview

Black & Ambers Next

Well we’ve come to the end of another Principality Premiership season and we sign off at Rodney Parade where we will be hosted by Newport RFC. Kick off is at the usual time of 2.30pm this coming Saturday.

After our disappointing result at the Gnoll last weekend the boys get this last chance to go out on a high by securing the points on offer. Looking at the table, we lie in 8th spot, a position that given our performances this season is probably a fair reflection on where the side are at the moment. The big thing to come out of the season is that a lot of our younger players will have learnt a lot over the past nine months playing for Llanelli which will hopefully put them in good stead for the challenges that lie ahead.

Newport are having a much better season this year compared to last. They are still in with a shout as far as the end of season playoffs are concerned and, to stand any chance have to secure a bonus point win. That makes our task that much harder but who knows what might happen on the day. Newport beat us at home back last November in a very competitive game and let’s hope for the same commitment and attitude prevails this time round.

Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and lets all hope that we see a fine game of semi pro rugby in the April sunshine.

As always we are extremely grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing you on Saturday at Rodney Parade.
