Match Preview

Principality Premiership Thursday evening clash

We are back in Parc-y-Scarlets this week to take on the Black & Ambers in a Principality Premiership league clash. The game is scheduled for Thursday evening with a 7.30 kick off and as always we look forward to welcoming all travelling players, officials and supporters from both sides to what we hope will be another exciting round of league action.
After the Fosters Challenge cup games against Neath & the Quins the squad will be striving to get back to winning ways having lost our last two Principality Premiership games against Aberavon and Llandovery a few weeks previous. Our recent encounters with Newport RFC have been really well contested games and there is no reason to expect anything different this time round.
Our opponents have seen a huge turnaround in fortunes so far this season. They lie in joint 3rd spot in the league having secured six wins from their ten starts. In three of their four losses, the game has gone down to the wire which demonstrates that they will play for the full eighty. This, with a combination of exciting new young blood in their ranks and a new coaching team it looks very much that Newport are a team very much on the up. Make no mistake, they will come to the "Parc" looking to take us on in all aspects and come away with an away "W".
It's very much the case that on our day we can compete with all the Premiership sides, but the boys will have to put in a really good all round disciplined performance to curb the attacking threat of our Gwent visitors.
A quick look back at recent matches indicates that we should be in for another full on encounter. Look forward to seeing Thursday evening.
