After our two B&I cup games we get back into Premiership action once again this weekend. What a game it promises to be, another game against our regional rivals Llandovery. As you know we travelled up to Church Bank a few weeks ago and really got a bloody nose so to speak. They were dominant on that particular night and no doubt will fancy their chances against us at the “Parc”.
Yes, we lost our two games against Rotherham, but they were really full on encounters with a top English Championship side so we can hold our heads up and look forward to the next few rounds in the Premiership. Currently we sit a few points behind our opponents in the league so a win on Saturday will be really key for us to keep in touch with the top sides.
As for our visitors Llandovery, they are having another fine season. They lie in third spot in the Premiership and have lost just on the one occasion so far and that was back in September at Cross Keys. So they’re coming in to this game full of confidence have secured some really fine wins of late.
As we enter the festive season, this game at the park promises to be a cracker [no pun intended!]. Forgetting that Friday night performance a few weeks ago, if recent fixtures with Llandovery are anything to go by, particularly at Parc-y-Scarlets we should be in for a free flowing game of rugby with lots of tries – what we want to see is the home side running in more than our fellow regionalists - make no mistake we will have to play really well to beat them!
Why not take time out from Xmas shopping and come along to see some super Premiership action. Finally, on behalf of all of us at Llanelli Rugby, can I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
