2013/2014 Principality Premiership
Llanelli 27 v 3 Aberavon
26 October 2013 - Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli

Match Preview

Wizards come to Town

We’re back in Principality Premiership action this weekend when we host Aberavon RFC at the “Parc”. Please note due to the postponement of the scheduled S4C match between Neath and Pontypridd we now kick off at 6.45 pm in front of the cameras.

The match sponsors are Callus Plumbing Heating Engineers and on behalf of everyone at Llanelli RFC our grateful thanks for your support – we all hope you have a great night out.

Having come out of the first two rounds of the British & Irish cup sitting on top of the pool it is testament to the quality on offer at semi pro level that not only Llanelli, but all the Welsh representatives in this year’s competition have really stepped up to the plate to compete at the next level. Competition like this provides the semi’s with valuable learning and experience and can only benefit Welsh rugby in the long run.

Aberavon are one of those sides who have done extremely well in winning their opening tie at Gala, and narrowly going down at the Talbot Athletic ground last Saturday to a very strong Bristol side 20-24. Clearly, they will look to build on these performances as they come to the “Parc” trying to put their league results back on track. Having secured a good win over Newport, they’ve since lost their last three matches so as I’ve said they will be looking to take the spoils on Saturday.

For Llanelli, our last league game a few weeks ago saw us go down to Bedwas so the boy’s will be looking to make home advantage count to secure a “W” to improve on our current league position of 5th. Our recent results against the Wizards have been very good and all the games have turned out to be really exciting encounters - Let’s hope for the same again this week-end and the boy’s can get back to winning ways.

Look forward to seeing you there.
